Invitation to Artists
You are invited to exhibit in Gippsland Grammar’s online art show, Art Online, which will be held over four weeks from 13 September to 8 October 2021.
Gippsland Grammar: Art Online will celebrate established Gippsland artists, while also supporting Gippsland’s future artists, by raising funds towards the multi-million dollar Visual Arts & Technology Centre that is currently under construction at our senior Garnsey Campus in Sale. Our School is committed to Art, Design and Technology education and understands the importance of supporting the Arts in our community.
Art Online will offer exhibiting artists with a connection to Gippsland the opportunity to showcase works of all mediums to Gippsland Grammar’s extensive network, including to current School families and many generations of Old Scholars located across Australia. The exhibition will be heavily promoted via the School’s internal publications, direct emails to our Community, our wide-reaching social media channels and through local media.
Submitted artworks can be current or past or a combination of the two and can either be framed or unframed. All exhibited pieces will be offered for sale, less a commission of 30 per cent (or up to 100 per cent donated commission, at your discretion). The money raised via these commissions will go directly to the purchase of visual art/technology studies resources and furniture for the Visual Arts & Technology Centre.
If you wish to join us in celebrating Gippsland artists by exhibiting in Art Online, please consider the following:
1 // by Sunday August 22: reply to this email at artshow@gippslandgs.vic.edu.au with the completed Art Online submission form (click here), which includes details of up to five artworks for submission (including name, title, medium, dimensions, price, and if the piece is framed or unframed) and accompanying high-resolution .JPEG images (300dpi, maximum 1meg) of each piece of submitted artwork. Please note, our online sales platform allows you to submit up to two additional images of the same artwork to support an understanding of scale and or surface detail, for example, a picture of the art hung on a gallery wall or an interior space and/or cropped or enlarged detail. Each .JPEG image must be clearly labelled with the name of the work.
2 // by Sunday August 22: if you would like to be featured in any marketing promoting of this exhibition, please also submit a short artist bio (150 words) and a photo of yourself that you consent to being used in print and social media.
3 // Monday September 13 – Friday October 8: the exhibition will take place online at https://www.gippslandgrammar.vic.edu.au/
4 // Monday October 11 – Friday October 15: all sold artworks will need to be delivered to Gippsland Grammar’s Garnsey Campus, Princes Highway, Sale during business hours. Artwork will be stored correctly in a safe and secure location until collected by the purchaser or sent via courier (at the purchaser’s cost).
5 // Monday October 11-Friday October 15: all proceeds, minus the pre-organised commission, will be paid to the selling artists.
As our excitement builds towards the opening of our state-of-the-art Centre, so too does our excitement at the opportunities this space will create for us to celebrate Gippsland artists, such as yourself. We look forward to partnering with you to celebrate Gippsland art through Gippsland Grammar: Art Online.
If you have any further questions about this exhibition, please contact Gippsland Grammar’s Head of Visual Arts and Technology Nadine Lineham or Development Co-ordinator Sarah Guinness via artshow@gippslandgs.vic.edu.au.
We look forward to hearing from you and to celebrating your artwork in our exhibition.
