Karen Chugg began her career as a classical musician, training and performing in South Australia and England. During 22 years in England she eventually qualified and worked in Social Work, painting being an accompanying hobby. Returning to Australia in 1994 Karen worked in several Social Work and Counselling positions, retired in 2016 and completed a Diploma of Art Appreciation.
Having lived for protracted periods in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, London, the Midlands, Shropshire, Darwin and Inverloch, Karen has a compelling interest in capturing the changing beauty of landscapes and seascapes, as well as portraiture.
Karen has sold paintings in the UK and Melbourne to private collections, was Highly Commended (Portrait Section) at the 2018 Corinella and District Community Art Show, and won the First Prize, Emerging Artists award at the 2019 Winter Solstice Exhibition, Art Space Gallery.
