Peter Cummings--ArtistWhen I started engraving glass it was thought to be an ancient, dying art form. I don’t want to see it die – it is too beautiful a craft to live as curiosities in crystal cabinets and historical museums.

I have refined techniques and experimented with not only glass but also painting and sculpture. And when I create my works it is always with a story in mind. Because of my love of ancient Greek tragedies, the story may originate from one of those tales. However there is always a link to the present.

Looking deeper into society’s complex stories is what drives my learning and arts practice.

I aim for the viewer to immerse themselves as a participant, and to read the many layers of the stories on their own.
